Hi! 

My name is Alison but I'm also known as Hexadoodle, Hexa or Hex.

I am a UK award winning quiltmaker, Twitch Creative Broadcaster and Hex Addict!

I love to combine my favourite techniques that I've learned over the last 15 years and I'll often refer to myself as a "variety" or "hybrid" quilter. My favourite techniques to combine are English Paper Piecing, appliqué and big stitch hand quilting. This is reflected in many of my patterns and designs.

I'm drawn to complex geometric shapes and draw a lot of inspiration from mathematics, Islamic geometry and the World around me.  I love nothing more than playing around with paper pieces or my children's pattern blocks toy to come up with new and interesting patterns and combinations.

My original “hexadoodle” quilt designs offer a fun and whimsical alternative to traditional EPP quilts. The designs are often inspired by my children who will ask me to "hexallate" something for them; whether it be their favourite characters from video games or TV through to sea creatures, animals and vehicles. A current theme running in our household is Pirates ☠ and so you'll probably see lots of pirate themed hexadoodles coming from me! 🦜🏴‍☠️

I love to share my passion for quilting through my weekly Twitch Live streams which include demonstrations, Q&A sessions, tutorials and an annual live stitch along with my viewers and community members.
