How to Glue Baste Hexagons

Hexagons are the perfect shape to start English Paper Piecing with. 

Follow the steps below to baste your hexagons perfectly. Alternatively, you can watch the video at the end of this post.

Place the paper template onto the WRONG side of your fabric shape. You can use a pin or small dab of glue to hold it in place.

Apply a thin line of glue along one of the edges. Keep the glue away from the very edge of the template.

Fold over the seam allowance.

Apply a thin line of glue along the next edge and fold over the seam allowance.

Pay attention to the corner to ensure that the fabric is firmly wrapped over the template and that you have a neat, crisp point on the corner.

Continue working your way around the hexagon until all of the seam allowances have been turned over.
